Online Marketing

Listed below are the most frequently asked questions (FAQ) about paid marketing. If your questions are not covered in this FAQ, feel free to send them to us and we will do our best to give you a satisfactory answer.

What is Paid Placement?

Also called Pay Per Click (PPC), paid placement is a model where the person placing the highest per-click price for a keyword achieves the highest placement or ranking. Users can achieve a top ranking on many PPC engines the very same day versus waiting for weeks or months with the regular search engines. You will also receive a guaranteed placement on every keyword you choose without needing to tweak the content of your pages. You'll then keep your ranking until someone outbids you. When this happens, your listing will be pushed down a notch.

What is the advantage of using PPC engines over banner ads?

One big advantage of PPC's over paying for banner ads is that you do not pay for impressions displayed, but instead for actual click-throughs. After achieving the click-throughs it is up to your site to convert the acquired visitors to actual sales. So, even though a PPC cannot guarantee you will make a profit, it does offer you significantly less risk than many other forms of advertising.

How does Goto.com work?

Simply put, Goto.com is Pay Per Click engine where you can bid for the top positions for various search keywords. This would render the "search engine positioning" to a non-issue. You may bid on as many keywords as you want, and set your bids at any level. The charges are on a per-click basis. The more popular the keywords with other advertisers (bidders), the higher the cost per clickthrough.

How does RealNames work?

With RealNames you pay a yearly $100 fee for a "RealName." When someone does a search on AltaVista (and some other search engines), at the top of the search returns is a link to any matching RealNames.
